Easy to Build Console Table - Ana White!

Have I told you how much I heart Ana White? The woman is my hero! I never would have thought I could build STUFF. In fact, for a couple of years I had a ton of tools in my garage from a former roommate and never looked once at them - I was so intimidated. Thanks for her easy to follow and inspiring plans I am now building things! See the first console here that I built.

I still had other areas I want to build for and get furniture for, but as a quick fix for the holidays I decided to put together her EASIEST console table ever! Here is the link to the plans. Literally four pieces of wood and paint. Home Depot cut the wood for me, so anyone even without many tools could do this one (thought you will notice in the pics I just got some tools for future builds!). It was so easy in fact I never took pics of the building process, but here is the painting process.

This is current being used a “buffet” table or really, just something to place stuff on in the formal dining room. Great fix for now and it will likely move to behind one of the couches or a bedroom later. I am currently stalking craigslist for a buffet or sideboard.

  1. Wow! I am amazed at the furninture people can make using her plans! I would love to try it sometime. I just need some tools and to get over the fear! Good job it looks really nice. What a great thing to be able to say, " made it!"

  2. @Melissa @ It's Fancy Schmancy You can do this!! I have yet to cut a single piece of wood myself (getting the courage to and just got some tools). I just had home depot cut the wood for me, then used a hammer, nails, and nail setter (to sink nails into the wood then use wood filler to fill it back in). Sure it would be easier if I had a nailgun and knew how to use a saw but that would have delayed me and never start anything! Just worked with what I had and kept the cost down! Just start!
